How do I copy my course for use in the next semester?
This method is by far the easiest. If the course you want to copy the content from is still in your My Courses list, you can copy content from it. If the course is not still listed in your My Blackboard list, you will need to import the file you created at the end of the course.
Access the course you wish to copy your old content from (For example, if you want to copy from Fall to Spring, go into the Fall course).
Under the Control Panel click on .
Click on
Verify that Select Copy Type displays Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course.
Click and locate the course you wish to copy to. Do not type into the box.
Click the Select All button in Section 2.
Under the Discussion Board area, select
".
No action is needed in Section 3 & 4.Click and wait for e-mail confirmation that the import has completed successfully.
After you have received the import successful email, complete the following:
Now you can go into the course that you copied the content into.
Navigate to the Full Grade Center and determine which column will be the current grade column for the students in their My Grades (can be a total point column that is created automatically or a letter grade column that you have created). Click the down arrow next to it and select "Set as External Grade".
This will move the green checkmark next to the column students will see as their Current Grade in My Grades. Delete all unnecessary total and weighted total columns.
If you selected to include starter posts for each thread, you will need to go into each discussion forum and tell Blackboard who is the author of the anonymous posts. Go into Discussion Board for your new course. The first time you access them, you will receive a pop-up. Select your name from the list. This will set the author of all posts that were copied over to you.
View your course content to verify that everything works and change dates as appropriate.
